We just completed CPR at Church of the Highlands in Birmingham, AL. Chris
Hodges did a great job sharing his story and teaching on church planting
strategy. It was one of the best meetings we have had like this and I
believe will produce several great church planters.
CPR is the start of the relationship with ARC and initiates a long
partnership with each church planter that plants a church with us. We are
serious about relationships! Check out this email that I received from
Pastor Nathan Camp.
Billy,
I wanted to take a minute to thank you for how great ARC has been over the
last month. I have been really humbled by church planting. Since I came from
a successful church, and lead a successful ministry, I had the feeling that
I really didn't need much help in planting this church. I can only see now
how much pride I actually brought into planting Fusion. During these last 2
years, my heart has been exposed and I realized how much I was in need of
grace. That I can only do anything as God gives His grace...outside of that,
I have a tendency to fail.
In this very exposing process, I have seen my need for help. When we landed
here in Orlando, I thought I really had it all together. That we were going
to re-write how to plant a church. Instead, we have struggled a lot more
then I was prepared for. All that has brought me to the place where I have
been realizing I can't do this alone. I need to have a tribe that I roll
with and that has my back.
I know that we have been "loosely" affiliated with ARC, but I took at step
of faith last month and called you and asked for some help. I can't tell you
how appreciative I have been watching the ARC staff come around us. Not
only were you very encouraging on the phone yourself, but Michael was as
well, seemingly really concern about our well being. Then, just last week,
Matt Keller called me and blew me away with his kindness and genuine desire
to be of service to me. Even to the point of coming down to visit Orlando in
March to get to know me and Fusion and help us along. That has absolutely
blown me away.
I remember at the first ARC round table I attended, and hearing you guys
talk about the relationships you were wanting with your church planters.
Well, I am seeing it first hand as a reality that you guys are living it.
I just wanted to drop you this line to say thank you for being so kind to
one of us guys on the outer ring, it has meant more then you know.
In Christ,
Nathan Camp
Lead Pastor
Fusion Church
This is an example of what we try to do in the area relationships. With
God's help we will continue to walk with each couple who partners with us.
God bless, Billy
Hi Billy,
I really enjoyed hearing Chris talk about your past and how you overcame obstacles in life and the great things you are doing with ARC.
I need your help. My 35 yr old brother-in-law is a very dynamic worship leader / music minister of a 300 - 600 member Southern Baptist church near Pearland, Texas. He went to seminary at Southwestern Baptist. He is very interested in being involved in a church plant. Who should I have him call?
Regards,
Mark
